Questions

Is my PDF or my signature sent anywhere?

No. Reading the PDF and adding the signature both happen on your device. Nothing is sent out after you choose a file. The signature you draw is gone when you close the page; it is not kept anywhere.

Is this a digital signature?

No. It puts a picture of a signature on the page. Unlike a digital signature, it does not prove who signed or that the document was not changed later. For documents that need a digital signature, use a digital signature service.

What happens to a PDF that has a digital signature?

Its digital signature is not valid in the new PDF, because the content of the PDF is changed and saved again.

Does the signature look sharp?

Yes. A drawn signature goes in as lines (vector graphics), smooth at any zoom and in print. A typed signature goes in as a picture at 300 dpi for its size on the page.

Can I add the date?

Yes. With "Add the date", the date goes under the signature, in digits such as 2026/09/30. It starts at today's date on this device, and you can change it.

Are the author and similar details kept?

No. The new PDF has no author, title, dates or similar details. Attachments and the structure for screen readers (tags) are not kept either. Bookmarks stay, and still go to their pages (those that open web pages, email or phone numbers, or give the PDF reader a command such as next page or print, too; those that would open another file or app, or run a script, do nothing). Form fields are copied onto the pages as they look, and cannot be filled in again. Comments on the pages and their replies stay as they are, with the names of the people who wrote them and their dates. Comments that are never shown, and replies to them, are left out.

What is the saved file called?

signed.pdf. The original file name is not used.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes, and you can draw the signature with your finger. It needs a recent browser (an older one shows a message that it cannot run the tool). Inside apps such as LINE, saving may not work. If so, open the page again in Safari or Chrome.
