TEMOTO

The TEMOTO promise

TEMOTO's tools are made so that your files stay on your device. This page explains how, and what we promise, in plain words.

Three promises

  1. We do not send your files

Files you put in a tool's box are processed only on your device. They are not sent to TEMOTO or anywhere else.

  2. We do not count how often you use a tool

We keep no record of which tools you use or how many times.

  3. No ads or analytics inside the box

There are no ads or analytics on the pages at the moment. If we add them later, they will be outside the box only, and they will be listed in the External transmission policy.

How the tool's box works

The tool itself runs inside a "box": a small window (an iframe) that is loaded from a separate address.

Browsers do not let pages from different addresses look inside each other. So the rest of the page cannot see into the box.

The box has a browser rule that stops connections to the outside (CSP), and a rule that limits what it can do (sandbox).

The parts a tool needs are loaded before you choose a file. After you choose a file, the box makes 0 connections.

Once you have opened a tool, it is made to work without an internet connection too.

Check it yourself

  1. Open a tool page in the browser on a computer.

  2. Open the developer tools (for example with the F12 key) and go to the Network tab.

  3. Choose a file and use the tool. Check that no new entries appear.

Checked by automated tests

Before each release, automated tests check that:
