Questions
Is my PDF sent anywhere?
No. Reading the PDF and making the new one both happen on your device. Nothing is sent out after you choose a file.
Which pages do the numbers mean?
The numbers of the list, in the new order. They change when you remove or reorder pages. The list also shows which page of the original PDF each page was.
What if I make a mistake?
Press "Undo" to go back one step. No file is made until you save, and the original PDF never changes.
Does turning a page lower its quality?
No. Only the orientation setting of the page changes. Its contents are not drawn again.
What is the saved file called?
edited.pdf. The original file name is not used. The new PDF has no author or similar details either.
Can I use PDFs with a password?
No. Remove the protection first from PDFs that need a password to open, or that limit printing or changes.
Are there pictures of the pages?
No. This tool changes only the orientation, the order and which pages are kept, without drawing the pages. Check the pages by their numbers, sizes and orientations. To see what the pages look like, turn them into pictures with "PDF to images".
Limits
- PDFs with a password or other protection cannot be used.
- Bookmarks, attachments, the author and similar details, the structure for screen readers (tags) and the color settings for printing (output intents) are not kept. Links are kept only when they go to pages of the PDF, web pages (http, https), email or phone numbers, or give the PDF reader a command such as next page or print (links that would open another file or app, or run a script, are removed).
- Comments on the pages and their replies stay as they are, with the names of the people who wrote them and their dates. Comments that are never shown, and replies to them, are left out.
- Form fields are copied onto the pages as they look, with what was typed or ticked, and cannot be filled in again (digital signatures are not valid in the new PDF). Marks that attach files or play sound, video or 3D content (annotations) are taken off the pages.
- The pages are not shown as pictures. Check them by their numbers and sizes.
- One PDF can have up to 200 MB and 2,000 pages.
- We cannot protect against things in your own environment, such as browser extensions.
